Bino and Fino Dance Azonto

Lol at Papa Papa's old school moves. My sisters and I love this clip.

Bino and Fino is West Africa's first children's educational cartoon. If you look to the left side of the blog you will see a Bino and Fino button asking for your support. A lot of work and finance goes into keeping this show alive so please support the makers.
For those of you who see cartoons as a waste of time you are entitled to your opinion. But remember that your kids love them and would watch whatever is available. Lets support Bino and Fino, let our kids watch cartoons with characters that look and sound like them.

All you need do is take a picture and send to eskinks@gmail.com with your name and the name of your outfit (if it has one).

Trad.Fridays is not just about African designers but about Africans! So take out your Camera/Phones and take beautiful pictures for us to see. Abeg SHOW YOURSELF!! This kind shakara no go wake palava...
And if you are shy, no problem.Anonymous pictures are just as beautiful!
Until next time...
Blessings!

Note:You don't need to be the designer of your outfit... as long as you are wearing it, share it with us.

Know the name for your gele (gaylay)?

Many of you might not know this but the Nigerian Gele (gaylay) has different styles and names...you've got "Boy's- follow-me", "ceiling fan", "hand fan"....and many others. Some ladies tie them to be so outrageously wide that they cover everyone behind or beside them. Some churches even had to ban the gele at some point (the outrageously large ones).

Lagbaja, a  Nigerian musician, wrote a song for the gele in which he listed some of the popular names ...enjoy!
Know any more styles? Please share with us...
Happy Weekends!!

A Deception?

Happy Sunday People!!
It's the day of worship for most Christians  and I usually like to post my Fav. verses or an inspiring picture. Well, today I'm going to post a thought provoking video. A friend of mine on NaijaCommunity shared this with me and I felt that I should do same with you guys.
Now, before letting you watch this video I will ask that you be open minded and not take this video the wrong way. Nigerians get very uptight about religion and this is what has put us in the confusion that we are in today. After watching this video I will like you to ask your self ...

...are you really serving God or your religious leader?

My Africa Is Beautiful!! Happy weekend!!

I Heart Oyo State!!

Hi Readers!!
I got back from Oyo state on Friday. My trip to the Western part of Nigeria was SO INTERESTING!! I had so much fun!! Yoruba people are very hospitable. Immediately I arrived Ibadan, I felt at home. I had no problem adjusting. Locating a hotel and my orientation Camp was no Problem at all.
Immediately I left camp I could not wait to comb the town. The buildings are old and the roofs brown with age. The town looks so untouched. All I can say is that there is a certain beauty that the old town holds.I still cant place it.
The people are so respectful and they treat copers like their biological children. Everyone wants to help a coper. I enter some cabs and my money is refunded to me. The people know how to make you feel special.
Now that I'm free of camp, I will resume blogging.Posts will be mostly on hair, culture and lifestyle of the western region of Nigeria. Much love!!
Leaving you with my fav. Yoruba musician...e ba wa gbadun (enjoy)

While in Dugbe market I heard the sounds of Ebenezer Obey playing from a store...I could not control myself, yes I shared some moves with the traders to the embarrassment of my friend:)...I love Old school!!

Headwrap Gele (gaylay)

This is how to "display" at a Nigerian occasion. A lady might not have too much money but with a huge gele, correct lace, and tight(beautiful) shoes, my dear you don shine pass!! I love my culture ♥
