Hair Update: Bye-bye Kinky Twists

Hi everyone,
I've finally taken down my kinky twists and because my scalp felt sore, I waited for 2 days before using my fingers to detangle. I applied some coconut oil and then took my time detangling in sections. As I detangled I noticed that my hair seemed a bit longer.
Rewind: When I came back home from my Youth Service, my Mom looked at my hair and said "that's all your hair?" Yes o, her old baby never had hair this healthy before ^_^. I felt that she meant that it looked healthy plus I believed that loose twists sort of gave the illusion that my hair was long. I guess I was wrong...abi?
Below are pictures I took of my hair in January after stretching it out (using a flat iron) and trimming it. And the third picture is my hair after taking down my kinky twists.....

Note that my hair in the first two pictures is straight and the one in the last picture is coily hair loosely braided. So what do you think?
**Kinky hair does grow if you know what to do with it**

INVITE:  As a natural hair blogger, I get mails and questions on the streets from transitioners and old naturals  about my coily mane techniques. While I don't have a problem helping others in their journey, answering the same question over and over again can be a bit much . For the next two weeks I will be discussing my techniques with new and old naturals on the new DB&K Forum . So,If you are having problems finding the right products or techniques that suit our Naija climate, register, login and lets rub minds. See you there!!
